Finally!

Finally a website /blogsite devoted to the classic barbie A frame dollhouse. =-) I am excited to see the new pictures and info being published as the site gets established.

  1. Hi there,

I was really pleased to find this website, and am seriously thinking about beginning an A-frame collection. I love them, and have always wanted one, complete with all the awesome frniture and the pool of course. The only problem is that they so rarely appear for sale in Australia, where I'm from, and hen they do, it's often not in my state. I'd buy one from the states and have it shipped over, even with the crazy cost, but ebay sellers are very reluctant to send such a big package internationally. So my hunt for a nice, clean and mostly complete A-frame continues. FYI - there is a buffet/dining cabinet thing in box on ebay at the moment.

Keep up the blog! It's great to find other enthusiasts.

  2. Thanks for checking it out. This is the only blog of its kind that I know of. I made it to oganize my thoughts, knowlege and pictures of my passion for this toy. After enough people find this blog, it will come up on searches easier. I may contact Mattel at some point to get initial production numbers and more info. I wish I knew of a way of getting an A frame to Australia. Conversely, Canada and Australia have cool things we Yanks have a hard time getting too. Regards, Frank

  3. Frank,
What an amazing blog you have set up! I am not really a Barbie collector ( though some may argue ) but I am collecting the A frames! I have purchased some on auctions and a couple on Craig's List. I have most of the furniture, and am currently getting one together for a friend. ( Piece by piece..) I am glad to find another A frame enthusiast. I have learned much about them, but have not found a green box! I am glad a friend referred me to your blog. SUPER!

  4. Hi Jae,
thanks for the positive feedback. The longer I work on this blog, the more enthused I get about it and the A Frame. I have scoured Ebay so much looking for a good deal on these houses, now I am ready to venture out and try Craigslist. I am curious to know how it works with buying one out of state on Craigslist as there isn't any buyer protection as on Ebay/paypal. I would love any info you have and will post any experiences I have with that as well.

  5. Sounds good Frank,

I have only dealt with local dealers on Craigs List. I did acquire the latest for 25.00. It came with stickers galore over it, but it was in great shape, no cracks, and most column covers in good shape. It actually had an orange roof vs. the red roof. After doing some research there was indeed some with orange roofs( some told me it was a faded red one ) but no it was not! Turns out the orange roof came furnished with the pink furniture! It might have been a transition year before the pink house. I cleaned it up, and now the house looks amazing! I bought some lights and they look incredible. The light actually makes the floors glow.. very cool. When you go on craigslist you will be able to go to local cities to find your A frame. Let me know if you find any! Most from out of state won't ship.
