I came across this ad this week while doing a random scour of the internet for anything A Frame small house that I was not aware of. This is a textbook A Frame dollhouse. There is a catch however. Upon closer examination one can see that the house stands in at 11.5 inches, and the people only 3.5 inches. So, not a Barbie house, but still noteworthy. Perhaps this was the inspiration for the '78 Dream House we love so so much.
This site is for all things Mattel A Frame Dollhouse for Barbie. I love it, it's so 70s. I've often thought about making a "ski cabin" type of thing for Malibu Barbie, similar in style to something like this.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, its just so small....
ReplyDeleteI had this doll house. It was from Marx, called the Mountain House. And yes, it was quite petite.
ReplyDeleteMarx put out so much great stuff....Its unfortunate they soon decided to manufacture in Hong Kong so I cant give it 'good ol' American company out of West Veginia' creds, but a house this scale certainly takes up a lot less room than the red/white/yellow one from Mattel. I am getting into the wooden A Frame kits from the 70's I keep seeing. You could almost put that in your study and not have company think you're strange because you have it. ;-)
ReplyDeleteooo I had this. Christmas 1976! I have been searching for one forever! The dolls were quite small. ahhh I miss Sally and Sue :-)
ReplyDeleteI owned this exact doll house. It is probably my all time favorite toy from my childhood. I wish I'h have kept it. The dolls were tiny and you could bend their legs. I don't remember any dolls similar at that time. Such fond memories seeing this picture. :D
ReplyDeleteI owned one too!I absolutely loved this as a little girl. I still wish I had it also.
DeleteI had one of these growing up and I LOVED it! It was small and portable and we often ended up by the creek side with it :). I would love to find one for my grand daughters now.
