  1. in response to There are quite a few versions of the Dream House, the first one came with the mirrored closet doors, furnished version came with the patio triangles while unfurnished version did not...later version of the house did not included the mirrored closet doors and the furniture also was missing the mirrored finish (the coffee and end table) Then they changed the furniture color to the pink, same Dream Furniture but in a different color scheme (pink & white) The house was updated in 1986 in a light pink color, the light pink color version is the hardest to find today it was produced for a year and then Mattel used a more raspberry colored roof instead of the soft pink. Also the windows changed from the clear with the light pink trim to darker pink trim to and all light pink window and the last version came with the all hot pink windows and an almost hot pink roof to match!! The last Dream House was manufactured in 1991. Quite a long running production..the house first appeared in 1979.

  2. Are you still doing makeovers on the A-frame Barbie house? I recently bought 2 but I'm trying to decide on what color to do? I had a metallic terra-cotta color I tested on the roof and it looked good. I kiss don't know what color to paint the house? I'd like to make the railing black, to look like it's iwrought ÷ iton.

  3. Generally, the white walls and parts looks best white, and if they are faded, clean and repaint white. When I have seen walls black it just looks Goth and like a "Monster High" house or now maybe more the trend of all black houses (modern farmhouse?). The metallic terra cotta roof sounds interesting if the other color chosen complements it. Think of the whole house as 1 theme, not just colors you have on hand or like, are you going retro, or selecting a different theme? Live with the colors for a bit before you choose. I would imagine these houses can only be painted once before losing detail like the wood grain on the walls and individual roof shingles. Hope it turns out good!
