Vintage Retailer Ads: circa 1981-1991

You can bid on the originals via Ebay.

Party like its 1985. Loving the decidedly yuppie look the stagers gave our couple for this photo shoot. This looks like the house version with pale pink trimmed windows.

Two historically excellent houses in one year! A far cry from the diminutive cramped crappola that is mass produced these days. Have kids just moved on to video games and content now so play structures are less relevant?

Blogger's Own: Meshing a House and Cottage

So, I had some time and thought I would see what I could come up with combining both houses. You could always add more house parts and make more out of foam board. I wish I had put the green outdoor carpet square down first, but here you go, hope you all enjoy!

Side of house with custom sun porch. I cheated a little by using smaller scale Dawn's Apartment furniture on the pied a terre but its cute.

Rear of house with multiple decks and patios. The only piece I did not use was one of the A Frame  arches from the cottage.

PS: here is a link to an awesome blog I came across today.

So, this rare, complete oink A Frame with the hot pink windows was spray painted to look a new Monster High Mansion, they also spray painted a 1963 Boudoir and bench set, what do ya'll think?? PS: They want $1500 for it.

Blogger's Own: Furnished and Staged with Custom Plants

Well, its March already and spring semester is nearly half way over. Here are some recent shots, but I have more to follow.  I see the current views are over 34,000. Right On! Stay tuned.

Look, a lizard lounge.

Kitchen with dollar store poster board exterior wall, and sink with dishwasher made from dollar store yellow paper.

Outside shot, this material works very well for custom projects.

More dollar store treasures- cheap, small ferns that just happen to be PERFECT for upgrading/updating the often sparse planters.

My zen bathroom, painted white garden tub, Gloria potted palm and more dollar store mini ferns- love it!

To get this look you can find these mini cactus at Michael's arts and crafts store in the floral dept. They were about $3 each, they had others but I thought these worked best. The pots and gravel are from...you guessed it, the dollar store! I used elmers white glue and floral foam to get everything to stay in place, rock by rock, took about 20 minutes to put each pot together, and I am SO happy with the results.

I noticed my 1978 Star Wars Cantina play set has a brown version of the flagstone floors and it got me thinking...How about his cool, miniature zen herb garden retreat upgraded add on for Barbie's house? The little blow mold form table counters are very reminiscent of the 1978 Sundae's Liddle Kiddle line. They are easily obtained on ebay rather inexpensively and of course can be customized in any way your imagination can think of:
